I still have an X-windows version of Space Invaders (you can't get
more retro than that) which I seem to have installed in 1997 (which
is many years after it first appeared on those huge old original
arcade game-consoles, some time in the late 70s which is when I first
encountered it, in the bar of a North Sea ferry).

It's called "xinvaders".
