I've recently (last couple of months) see a fairly large tablet project
(thousands of units) NOT consider the iPad because of the lack of a Java
VM. The project may not have been able to use the iPad for other
reasons, as it's going to be too nickable and breakable in the intended
environment (retail), but it demonstrates the danger of Job's plan.
