The whole Wikileaks thing seems to have turned into a story about the
personality of Julian Assange rather than the content of the leaks,
with his book deal and no doubt forthcoming book tour (maybe not in
person, but via teleconferencing).
Wikileaks is just one manifestation of the movement towards greater
openness and transparency, so even if that organisation no longer
continues it's certainly not the end of the story. Ultimately Assange
is just some guy with a web site, and in principle anyone with
adequate knowledge could do something similar. Developments in "the
cloud" will make it easier for organisations to operate
trans-nationally, such that their web presence isn't easily
requisitionable by any single national legislation.
