[Sheflug] Apache control panel
Hi Folks,
At work, we manage websites for a small but growing bunch of
customers. They have varied requirements but usually just need apache
with ftp access. Some also need mysql. Currently this is all managed
by cli (which is fine for me but we do have some less cli-friendly
employees) but it is getting to be a PITA to set up each virtual host,
chroot the ftp user, set passwords etc, create the database etc.
I was looking at Cherokee:
http://www.cherokee-project.com/
which I like the look of as it has a GUI to administer stuff, though
this wont cover mysql setup, ftp chrooting, user setup etc.
Had a look here:
http://wiki.debian.org/HostingControlPanels
but its a bit of a minefield. Would appreciate feedback on any of these.
I'm also hoping to finally get to a meeting some point soon - walked
past RMS in the street a week or so back. You have to slap yourself a
bit at moments like that!
