I've always loved Escher myself.  Although, in more recent times 
Stephen Wolfram and Mathematica seem to be one of my interests - 
http://www.stephenwolfram.com/.  I've got the Linux version.  
Although, to be honest.  There's lots of mathematical software on the 
Linux desktop that does the job.  Then there's something like LyX for 
typesetting.  I used to laugh at LyX in it's earlier versions but 
since the 2.0.0 version came along I've started to like it.  We've had 
a few discussions about LyX at recent meetings.
