Hi

Hot cakes moving off the shelf wouldn't begin to describe what's
happening with this. It's like the Asus EeePC 701 all over again...

" Frantic buyers cleaned out the shelves of two UK retailers offering
a small US$35 Linux computer from the Raspberry Pi Foundation. "
They should be lovely pieces of computing and most of the LUG's I'm on
are chatting away about possible uses for them.

Something that might also intrest the group is the Candy Stick computer
- http://store.cstick.com (pointed out on the Shropshire LUG).

Did anyone manage to snag one?
Yes - from Farnell (one of the 2 suppliers) - their site was running like a
dog but I kept at it yesterday and eventually succeeded. It should be
delivered mid-March, looks fun, love the 'model A, model B' reference to the
old BBC micro.

cheers,

Andrew.
Speaking of BBC micro's there was a teenie weenie article about their come back in MicroMart this week - http://go.qsplace.co.uk/bbcm
