What taught me how to use desktop point and click software to do 
graphics was being a beta tester for Cambridgsoft molecluar modelling 
software back in the 90's.  After hundreds of hours of testing their 
buggy betas I could use and test just about any desktop software....

When I started on this there were one or three people I would write to 
in Cambridge on the other side of the river from Boston.  They worked 
in a small shed.  Well built shed but small.  Then the Boston 
exhibition center came along and things changed a lot..
