[Sheflug] Daily Mail Claims that - Microsoft avoids paying Â159M in corporation tax Every Year
Hi
Tried to send this into Twitter. The URL Was cut off. Since it's
that time of year again I thought I might as well put it here. Don't
like to send M$ stuff to this list but thoughts of Scrooge and Marleys
ghost come to mind....
I don't know if this is true but you would have thought that the Daily
Mail will have checked their facts before circulating this. A good
read here. Bit like a children's cartoon but never mind...

" Microsoft pays no tax on Â1.7billion of online sales in the UK
thanks to a legal loophole, it has been reported. The technology
monolith is funnelling cash generated by online sales of Windows 8
software to Luxembourg to sidestep tax obligations, according to The
Sunday Times. If the allegations are true the company will join a
growing number of foreign companies coming under scrutiny for avoiding
UK tax, such as Amazon, Apple and Google. Earlier this week coffee
chain Starbucks caved to public fury and announced it would pay Her
Majestyâs Revenue and Customs to pay Â20million over the next two
years. "
