[Sheflug] Samsung and Tizen or MeeGo. Whichever
Hi
Yesterday's Ubuntu phone press squabble was kind of interesting for
me. I'm not a marketing or sales person. But, over the years I have
interviewed six different Mark Shuttleworth's in Barcelona and
Brussels and Germany and other parts of Europe as well as the United
States and Australia and other parts of South East Asia. All
different shapes and sizes. And about twelve different Jono Bacons.
Sounds a bit weird ? I thought so. I get confused with the bacon
that I east on Sunday mornings. Anything else is too difficult for
me. I was supposed to be the community officer for Ubuntu. The
Brussels version of Mark Shuttleworth asked me to do that. I gave
this information to several JANET administrators and several police
departments years ago. I hope they enjoy each others company. One
JANET admin at Manchester told me that he "wouldn't be going anywhere
near Ubuntu again". I can't blame him for that.
With this in mind I was wondering where to go next ? I didn't have to
wait too long. Always wondered when someone was going to take MeeGo
or Tizen seriously...

Samsung have announced that they intend to so something serious with
Tizen in 2013. Something about not wanting to rely on Google and
Android. Which considering the amount of taxes they owe at an
international level is probably a good idea. So, something to look
forward to....
