In case anyone was interested, this has annoyed me for the last time, I
finally did something about it:

cd /etc/devfsd
perl -p -i'.orig' -e 's/^(.+)cdroms(.+)$/#$1cdroms$2/' devfsd.conf 
echo 'cdrom b 22 0 0 0 0644' >> devices

Now a proper device ;) Much music playing shall commence....
