Star Office 5.1

Hi all,
I get SO 5.1 from SUN and installed it on my Win 98 and all was good, i
managed to go to the sun site using star office as a browser, and then
it let me go into a secure mode.
I tried a similar thing in Linux, but it said that this is unsupported
on this platform.
Is this true, can Star Office be used as a secure browser on Linux as it
can on Win 98?
If not is this the first of many drop offs in favour of Windows?
