USB on linux is completely dodgy anyway, although that's not a linux
problem: that's a problem in general. USB as a design is nice, in
practice, it's awful: very few manufacturers implement the complete spec.,
making a working USB system nigh on impossible to create. USB suffers from
a hell of a lot of bugs inconsistencies, and I think it's unlikely that
USB will *ever* be in a great state under linux. Hardware drivers, that's
another large hurdle. I think a USB-Zip is *never* going to work with
linux, I'm afraid. I'd chalk it up there with the Winmodems, Winprinters,
etc.....

Something to look forward to though: USB2.0. Hopefully they'll get it
right this time around. It's faster than firewire . .. ;))

Cheers,

Alex.
