Upgrading by hand is no picnic. Dependencies mean you have to upgrade
lot's of very peripheral programs if you upgrade say slang or newt.
For a kernel only upgrade, make sure you get the new modutils, binutils
(preferable), mount, util-linux and check
/usr/src/linux/Documentation/Changes

BTW, am I the only one that doesn't like RH6.1? Hardware detection on boot
up etc. Unnecessary. I think I might have a go with Stampede.
