Ruediger,

Dixons ( Comet and all the others in the Dixons Group) tend to have a bad
after-sales support rap, as well as limited technical pre-sales support.
I.e., their sales staff (usually part time students ;) generally don't
know the products exeptionally well. HOWEVER, all that said, I do like
Dixons personally - I got my Zip-250 PRO kit from there. They do a real
price match: you should have seen the face on the manager when I made him
price-match 10% off the tag ;)) He loved that... generally, if you know
what you want to buy, DIxons are fairly good at giving you a decent price.
On the other side of the coin, if you don't know exactly what you're
after, they're not going to give you a whole help of useful advice unless
you're lucky and catch someone with sense. I certainly wouldn't trust them
to give advice on Linux out....

Cheers,

Alex.
