Curry's made me laugh - I tried to buy a cooker from them, after 10 days of
trying to get a delivery date and many phone calls I cancelled my order and
went to comet (don't laugh - but they had one in stock!).
Told currys over the phone i'm cancelling and was told i needed to come into
the shop to sign paperwork - they would NOT mail it to me to sign and return.
Went into shop after 50 mile round trip, told I needed the original sales
receipt - told them to stuff it and walked out, cancelling the direct debit
with the bank. Sent a fax to confirm the cancellation in writing and not heard
anything since....until yesterday when igot mail asking me if i wanted to take
out an extended warrenty on the cooker....sent back a stinky note to customer
Non service department. the funny thing is that i also brought a vacumn
cleaner at the same time, and paid £90 deposit for both the cooker and the
vacumn cleaner......the cleaner was £100 and i've not been asked to pay the
remainder £10. (which i charged them for wasted Petrol, telephone calls, faxes
etc!)
