Company:
Newly formed company IT Consultancy company, based in Trafford Park,
Manchester.
Company specialises in providing database solutions to clients, based
around the Ingres database management system.

The Role:
To fill a support position that requires a reasonably good understanding
of any flavour of Unix (inc. Linux). Experience of writing Unix shell
scripts is highly desirable.
The duties will be to maintain Ingres-based databases, presently running
on a Solaris 2.6 Unix platform - training will be provided for Ingres.
A large part of the role will be to respond appropriately to client
queries received via a Helpdesk system.

This is a reasonably 'techie' position, often with challenging problems
which have to solved via a combination of Unix/Ingres knowledge.

Starting Salary will be between £14-16K, depending upon experience and
ability, with regular salary reviews; would ideally suit a recent graduate
or someone with some commercial experience.
