If you use a linux box ONLY as a dumb X terminal, make sure you have xdm (or
kdm) running on your main server (server.company.com) (Start it up in runlevel
5 - see the /etc/inittab file)
On the Xterminal box simply execute:
X -query server.company.com
Thats it.
However, if you have more powerful boxes for your terminals, you may want to
distribute power a little but share files and programs on your server. In that
case, you can go down the NIS/NFS shared information and shared filesystems
route where all user directories and shared prograsm directories are on the
server and mounted on each PC using NFS and all password/group data is accessed
from the server using NIS (ypserv, ypbind and yppasswd) Let me know if you need
