My sad attempt at humour; sorry if it offends. . . I really don't care
what distro people run ;)

My point was more than Debian is the only main distribution to be so out
of date it doesn't support my hardware, or some of my apps. It also runs
slower. Even Slack comes ready to do the stuff I want it to out of the
box, Debian doesn't.

But why would I bother? Going to Debian is a *retrograde* step for my
system: sure I can update it, but I'm taking two steps back before I can
go forward. . .

I did try and make it clear that I while I have preference, I really don't
care a great deal what people run: it's completely subjective personal.

Seriously, not trying to start a flame war ! ;)))
