Hear, hear. This, IMHO, is Red Hat's biggest problem. Even the minimal
install adds lots of junk you don't need - we converted one of our on-campus
web cache machines to Red Hat using the minimal install. After that, one of
my staff spent an entire day removing unwanted junk from the system. If you
want a Linux distro equivalent to Windoze, get Red Hat.

Personally, I've gone back to my original Linux distro - the extremely
minimalist Slackware. I just don't like the default compiler, but I can
always build a working one instead...

Being a Unix system administrator is like being a tech in a biological warfare
