Thanks for this interesting info and interpretation.

By coincidence, just now I had 'BBCWorldService ' running when
my ear caught the word Linux. So mentally I did a quick
'fg BBCWorldService' and listened to a brief piece about
Linux Torvalds, Transmeta and Linux. The main point was that
such developments offer possibilities to provide cheaper
technologies to rival and compete with Microsoft. So it was
a bit of an anticlimax. However, all is grist to the mill.

The program was The World Today and this slot occurred at
abut 01:23, lasting about 2 minutes.
