Did you use Partition Magic to rejig the partition table? Try running DOS
fdisk create another partition in the free space. Write the table out
see if Linux can then see the table. If so, simply delete the dummy
partition continue.

I managed to re-jig the DOS partitions on the drive into 1x1GB (primary)and 
1x800MB (extended)with the remaining as free space. Unfortunately both Disk 
Druid and Linux fdisk complain that they can't read the partition table.
