Kernel compilation problems on Debian
Hi!
I have an Athlon 550MHz here in which I installed Debian Potato.
Installation went smoothly over the network, and all happy and singing.
The thing is that I have decided to compile a new kernel. I have done so
a number of times, but still the kernel image which is produced tends to
generate all sorts of kernel panic errors or pointer de-referencing
complaints. I don't know what's wrong with this, I'm using the standard
gcc compiler that comes with Debian, but I'm at a loss here on what to
do!
Does anyone have any words of wisdom on this?
Thanks
José
