I use an 'ESS' sound card with suse6.3. I didn't have much luck with the
OSS drivers even though they are supported. I ended up using the kernel
module sbo for sound blaster compatables. Just edit the
'/etc/modules.conf' file with the appropriate irq and dma values. it
works great :-)
