Problems Connecting
Hello
After much playing around with i4L in SuSE 6.3 I've finally given
up. It connects but doesn't go any further. The username and
password aren't seen by my ISPs server.
I've plugged in an old modem and I've found that the same is
happening with that. I've tried Wv Dial and Kppp. I'm getting an
error message which says....
PPP daemon has died (exit code=19)
under /usr/sbin/pppd I can see the following....
the PPP kernel module could not be loaded, or because PPP was not
included in the kernel configuration. If PPP was included as a
module, try `/sbin/modprobe -v ppp'. If that fails, check that
ppp.o exists in /lib/modules/`uname -r`/net.
See README.linux file in the ppp distribution for more details.
Error: MD4Update MD already done.
Error: MD4Update called with illegal count value %d.
I've done /sbin/modprobe -v ppp and it doesn't make any difference.
ppp.o does exist in /lib/modules. I had a chat to Paul Sims about
this last night but all he could say was that it might be something
to do with PAP.
Can anyone make any suggestions please ?
Thanks
Richard
