Kernel compile problem
Hi,
I've spent most of the afternoon trying to build a new kernel - 2.2.14 with
the RT linux patch and I keep getting errors. When I reboot to the new
kernel it says - 'No setup signature found'. This isn't a message I know
about and I can't find anything helpful in the documentation I have - can
anyone advise please? Do I need to recompile again, is it something I am
doing wrong or what? The kernel seemed to compile OK and allowed me to copy
the zImage to a vmlinuz-1 file in the boot directory - I did get a complaint
that it couldn't find an image file and so I did mkinitrd and made a file
called rtlinux-image (it didn't put an '.img' suffix on, I don't know
whether this is significant or not) and then I altered the lilo.conf file
and ran lilo which worked OK and gave me a new kernel labelled 'rtlinux' .
Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks,
Ian
