RE: H/W probing

Actually I think the CMI8330 is only recently supported, I tried getting
sound working on it last year & even OSS failed.
BTW, if you put <path_to>/soundon in boot.local your sound will initialise
at boot time.
BTW2 - if you have installed Gnome, check out the sounds in the
Homer-applet package. rplay * in the directory where they live is quite
amusing. make sure rplayd is running first.
