SO and all that

	And another thread-subject change :)

One would think this way when they interviewed the Sun bloke in
Newsnight the day win2k was released ("Sun's OS running on Sun's
hardware is perfectly useable". The M$ guy was even better: "We do
software, that's the only thing we know how to do properly" and all
that)

	From their website:
     * Dot-Com Development Model: Community-based development with
open-standard file formats, APIs, protocols, and the Java(TM)
platform; source code available (in the near future)
       via Sun Community Source Licensing.

Sorry about the dot-com bit, but it is on the website... groan...

Apparently, the idea is called SO-portal (or star portal) if I'm
not too mistaken, but it'd basically be a version of SO in Java, so that
you can launch it off your fave browser. How they will accomplish this,
when even in a decent PC with linux and a fair amount of memory it's
sluggish at best... Just imagine the extra burden of bandwidth and all
that (all that meaning Java).

Right, it's decided, I'm gonna implement \TeX on java, together
with XEmacs and AucTex, and become rich and famous X-)

Definitely I need some food now :)
