RE: MP3 problems.



Hmm. I had a Triton based P75 (Overclocked to 90) with an original
SoundblasterPro card (with the proprietary Panasonic CD interface).

It plays MP3s very well (with respect to performance) with mpg123, BUT it's
only an 8bit card and I use the appropriate switch to downconvert to 8 bits.
It sounds 'good enough' to enable me to scan through the 250MB of MP3s that
my system extracts from Usenet daily ;o)
