Best thing I can think of is a reboot. If you don't particularly want to,
try editing /etc/mtab and removing all lines starting with /dev/fd0. Should
sort it out. AFAIK, mount only uses that file to work out what's mounted -
doesn't try to access kernel space for it (could be wrong ,though - never
looked at the source for it).

Edit /etc/mtab and remove one of the lines beginning with /dev/fd0. <grin>
Hope this helps. BTW, if you can re-create the situation, I'd love to hear
about how it happens...
