Pine, mailservers and the like

I`ve recently started using PGP, and a friend suggested I look at
PGP4Pine for integration.

I`m using mail.ecosse.net as my mailserver.

Can I run mail/pine on my box to fetch/send mail from this server, and
not have pine throw a wobbly because my machine`s domain name is
shaitan.localdomian (and not foo.ecosse.net)?

Also, I assume I need to setup and run sendmail to fetchmail for myself
and flatmate from multiple accounts, for delivery to multiple machines
across the flat LAN. Correct? And how much hassle is that?

 Baz.
