Nay probs :)

I'm still using cdda2wav to rip CD's...haven't found a need for cdparanoia
(though I know people that use it swear by it). As for speed, I don't really
need a faster version of the ripper...my Plextor SCSI can do 24x CDDA...nice
:)
All I really need is a faster processor so I can create a MP3 of an album in
10 mins or less :)

Regarding Nasm, if you want support for the Athlon advanced instructions,
according to gogo you need to patch nasm and rebuild...by default gogo comes
with support for Athlon instructions switched *on*, and standard nasm falls
over straight away during the gogo build (as I found out after deciding to
ignore the instructions, and try it anyway :)

One thing gogo proves: assembly is still the most effeicient thing to code
in, if you're up to it...now I've got nasm, I'll be taking a peek and the
asmutils package, and considering going back to 80x86 coding. :) [against
assembly language: "did someone mention they wanted portability? don't make
me laugh :)"]

Chris...
