Don't know about "everyone", but as long as I see stuff like "IDE
Driver updates" on edge.kernelnotes.org, I download that source. Plus,
I use ALSA, which is developed against the latest kernel. Plus, 2.4 has
isapnp support. When I upgraded from 2.3.48 to 2.3.51, I was very
surprised to see "ide3: AWE64 IDE Controller" which has never happened
before. Plus, I'm interested in IPv6.
I'm one of those "bleeding edge" users. Usually I've downloaded,
recompiled and installed a new kernel before Linux people I know have
even heard about it :)
