New Linux newbie
Hello all,
A friend of a friend is very keen on investigating Linux, but a bit unsure
about the applications available. Can anyone suggest replacements for the
packages he currently uses with Windows? After StarOffice and The GIMP, I don't
really use anything else, and being an extreme newbie, I don't want to recommend
things to him that I have no idea about.

> Netscape a Bitware fax program. I also have Corel draw3 and Wordperfect6.
I suppose I could just recommend Mandrake 7.0, or the forthcoming SuSE
6.4 to him and be done wth it, but would that be best?
Thanks a lot. Let's welcome another brother to the fold... sounds kind of
creepy doesn't it?
