Found the answer in the XFree86 FAQ at their web site...the answer, for all 
those dying to know (which I'm sure is all of you *grin*) is (straight from 
the horses mouth):

Q.C7- How can I swap mouse buttons? How do I get an XFree86 for Left-Handers?

Run xmodmap -e "pointer = 3 2 1" in an xterm or put such a command into your 
.xinitrc file.
