You can have a look at what is happening using the ps command - last time I
used wine, it took an awful long time to initialise the first time I ran any
Windows program, and I guess over a network that won't improve things. If
the process is still alive, it's a sign that it's okay, just doing a lot of
work. Does wine give an error message, or does it just seem to sit there for
you? Also, is it a recent version?
Cheers,
Alex.
