It's buggered. :)
Are there any other bits of code you're having this trouble with?
i.e. download random code from freshmeat.net and compile it.
If it works then it's your code obviously, but it looks to me like more
of a problem with the system. (glibc has had it's bugs, but not many
you would run across in usual use)
If it's definitely your code I'll have a look at it, but I would be more
inclined to think it was a library problem. (Update ld.so and glibc and see
if it persists?)
