Nope, I've written a test thingy that uses srandom() and random() fine.

I think it's my code, but I can't see for the life of me why changing
code somewhere in the middle of the program (actually around a function
using hypotf()) would cause the system library to not load the thing.  I
assumed that, as it segfaults during libc_start_main() it would have
executed any of my code (none of it is one the backtrace.)  Perhaps I'll
try breaking in my code.. can't see that it should get there tho :/

ld.so is the latest (1.9.11 or whatever) and the latest debian package
version, and glibc is 2.1.3, also the latest debian package.

I'll have another play and put the code up.
