[Sheflug] Access to MySQL
I'm looking at converting an Access db to MySQL so that I can have a common
UI across different OS's using a web browser.
To this end I've downloaded from http://www.cynergi.net/exportsql/ and run
an Access module which produces two text files which can then be used to
create the MySQL db. So far so good but the mini FAQ for the module reads.
"What do I do with the resulting files?" - Pipe/paste them into MySQL's
monitor program. Please read MySQL's documentation for further info.
This is where I grind to a halt, how do I pipe/paste them into MySQL's
monitor program? Which monitor program? and whereabouts in the MySQL
documentation should I be looking for help?
Does anyone have any experience of this kind of thing? Ultimately I want to
build some web pages using PHP... I expect I'll come grovelling back to the
LUG for help on this in the fullness of time but first things first, we'd
better get the MySQL db built first.
As always, any help gratefully received and genuinely appreciated.
Steve
