I applied via this making sure not to let any spam box go checked the wrong
way as last year I got loads of spam for months! This was despite asking for
removal from the lists.
Yet again I started to receive spam, spam telling me how the most important
fundamental thing in computing ever in the world was the launch of
Windows2000 and that I should go to an event for that. They sent this to a
person who had just signed up to go to Linux Expo and asked for no
unsolicited email!! I was furious, how incompetant were they? Apply for
Linux Expo tickets -> get NT spam!! I sent a really angry letter and later
asked for removal from their lists again in the same format as they
requested (I assumed it would be automated, I'd written to the postmaster).
They didn't like the tone of my email and wrote to the BBCs postmaster.
Fortunately he's my mate ;) So he just showed me their response, which asked
said "If he didn't want us to email him, why did he give his email" .. I've
not bothered replying but basically you can't get tickets unless you give
email. I think I shouldn't have used *'ed out swear words and called them
incompetant :)

I've not received anything yet though a colleague who wasn't rude did ;)

I'm pondering setting up my system if there is a stand with space, debians
last year was pitiful, and I have a nice set of demos available that would
show linux off well, I could possibly show the BBC dist. I've worked on for
the realencoder PC's.
