[Sheflug] TAP modules?

/usr/src/linux/Documentation/devices.txt
char 108 is /dev/ppp
char 36 (tap*) is the "ethertap" device (IIRC a preferred alterntive
"dummy device" to the SLIP dummy device that older versions of diald
used).
check diald docs (I just purged the diald package from my system, the
Debian setup script didn't work right and I can live with pon/poff,
so I can't help with that). also wvdial (but that's something
different IIRC) and I think there are some other dial daemons that
might use these.
use the package manager to find out which package owns /dev/ppp and/or
/dev/tap0 and check its docs.
what to do about them? probably add some aliases in
/etc/modutils/SomeConvenientFile.
