Perfectly possible, and in most cases the only way!

Select generic postscript printer in SOffice, and click connect. Then,
ensure that the line:

default = lpr

is in the connect box. If it is, you only need click print to use the
drivers from SuSE. This works on any distro, btw.

If you have more than one driver set up (I have a 360dpi, 720dpi, and
photo driver on mine), simply set up 3 generic printers as follows..

default = lpr

hires = lpr -Phires

photo = lpr -Pphoto

(these are my printer names, btw). Then, select the right queue for a
printer and you're away!
