[Sheflug] ssh-akey ssh-ell

Trying to set up ssh, can't get it to stop asking me for passphrase. I need
ssh to run from a script with as little intervention as possible.

method - as root & all my users, logged in & did ssh-keygen.
scp1 ~/.ssh/identity.pub "remotehost":.ssh/authorized_keys

sshd is running both ends. "remotehost" of course is replaced by a valid
hostname.

Initially I used the normal login pwd for the passphrase in ssh-keygen,
which kept prompting for the passphrase when I logged in.I repeated the
performance with a null passphrase, same result.

Am I correct in thinking that ssh should handle the RSA key authentication
without needing a passphrase as well ? Have I overlooked something
eye-wateringly obvious ?
