[Sheflug] Netatalk

I'm all confused again :(

I want to allow a Mac user to share files on my Mandrake 7 box (kernel 
2.2.14-15mdk). I'e downloaded netatalk but when I looked at the 
README.LINUX file it tells me that support for Appletalk is already built 
into my kernel. If so, why do I need netatalk and how do I share files with 
the Mac?

My brain hurts :(
