Well, I've downloaded it and I can't say that it's not worth the cost
of the phone call at all. If I was given a choice between Netscape
Composer and Top Page then I'd go for Netscape.
Another good HTML editor is called Bluefish which comes with the SuSE
CDs. If I had the odd six months going spare I'd teach myself how to
use it. I've often thought that an HTML editor that was based around
GTK+, Python, QT or something else and looked a bit like some of the
windows editors would go down well. As Bluefish shows, you can leave
lots of tools in there that allow plain old fashioned text editing.
When I worked for an ISP one of the in jokes was to look at a monitor
and say something like "Aye, it's top that enit " ? (in a broad
Yorkshire accent). I think this is a good way to refer to "Top" Page
?? The other in joke was the Friday night disk formatting scene. For
some reason Friday night is the night when everyone goes home for the
weekend only to find that the PC doesn't work and a quick call to the
ISPs call centre reveals that "If I were you I'd format it sir" !!
After twenty of those you get a bit merry :-) I think what I'll do is
I'll format my hard drive in celebration of the MS Windoze software
that "Top" Page really is :-)
'ere ... it's top that enit !!
