The difference between MacOS X, Solaris and Linux is that Linux is free.
Therefore releasing IE5 for Linux doesn't pay M$. They have money in
Apple, they can use IE5 as leverage with Sun. Linux is a competitor they
can't control. I would assume M$ will actively make sure IE5 is never able
to run on Linux, via iBCS or any other way.
That applies to the BSDs also.
