Harvey,

I had a lot of trouble with Libjpeg on my Suse 6.2 system as well. It
took me a fair while to get it sorted out. I found either Window maker
was satisfied or the Gimp but never both. one expected .so.62 the other
.so.7 I just had to faf with the symlinks for a bit to get it working.
Sadly that was Last Year so I can't remember what I did. I'm also on
6.4 now. I am also developing a hatred for Rpms the format could
(Should)have been done so much better. Suse call it libz Redhat call it
zlib, so though even all the files are there the dependency fails due
to a naming convention. anyway enough ranting
