SiS 5597 has been supported since >3.3.3, you shouldn't have a problem
getting that to work. What distribution are you running? (Apologies if
you've already said; I must have missed it!).
Certainly, the I128 driver should also work for the Number 9; but you have
an unsupported card now I'm afraid (9 cease to exist), so it could be that
development on these cards does all but halt.
The only possible thing that I could think might cause problems could be
the motherboard - having two graphics things on there may be causing some
sort of conflict. I'm surprised, though, that you've found XF86Setup
hasn't resulted in a working configuration. I think there is a possibility
or more being skew here than just the graphics cards, I'm afraid. Might be
worth looking at /proc/ to see what irqs, pci devices, etc., the system
can see.
Cheers,
Alex.
