Ah, you probably know netscape, too?  Haven't tried it, but you could
use one of the HTML-izing threading archiver programs to put all your
mail into an archive as if it were a mailing list.

procmail isn't hard to use as a pure mail splitter; you just have to
avoid being lazy (eg, if you just use "^TOsheflug" to split out sheflug
ml traffic, then personal mail from Richard will end up mixed in with
the ml folder if he writes from his sheflug address).

It's a hard problem; that's why programs like procmail have so many
options and configurations.
