Yes, that is true. However, the newsgroup I was on was comp.os.linux. If
this is not a Linux oriented newsgroup, what is? :-)

But yes, I definitely agree that LUG mailing lists are the best way to get
the information you need, simply because the people in them are more
likely to work together on a problem (ie. Richards network) than in a
newsgroup, in which anyone can put in there $0.02 without worrying about
what the response may be.

In other words, LUG's rule!!
