Well, they've always been that.

It's just that there are so many of them, and so much misinformation.
Where do you start?  And trying to correct misinformed people who
_like_ their particular style of misinformation is unprofitable.
People using Windows[1] and afraid of Linux and *BSD _want_ to hear bad
things about the free OSes....

I'd rather be here on ShefLUG where people actually thank you for
telling them straight.  Even if occasionally Richard goes bonkers with
his network.  :-)

I think the best strategy is to always be running Linux, do cool
things with it, and when people ask how'd you do that, you tell them.

[1]  And it's not just them; as you've noticed by now, I don't thank
people for telling me good things about GUIs.  We all have our little
blind spots---why deal with people who have BIG ones?
